Dr. Jennifer Salsberg Speaks on the Role of Skincare in Aesthetic Treatments

I recently had the opportunity to present to fellow healthcare providers at The Alastin Breakfast in Toronto about a topic that is central to my approach to cosmetic dermatology: the important role of skincare in supporting and enhancing the results of aesthetic treatments.

While injectable and laser treatments can deliver meaningful improvements to the skin, the procedures themselves are only one part of the picture. What we do to care for the skin before and after treatment can be equally important.

During my presentation, I shared findings from a recent clinical study showing that patients receiving injectable treatments achieved better outcomes when appropriate skincare was incorporated alongside their procedures. I also discussed how carefully selected skincare can help prepare, or prime, the skin ahead of certain laser treatments, potentially improving treatment outcomes.

The underlying message is simple: skincare and aesthetic procedures should work together, rather than be considered separately.

This philosophy is an important part of how we approach patient care at AvenueMD.
